Wounded Govt spokesman elected MP in Beledweyne

Mohamed Ibrahim Maalimuu has been elected as a member of the Somali Parliament, following an election held today in Beledweyne.

The teacher won the HOP#068 seat, according to the HirShabelle administration election commission.

The government spokesman’s election comes days after he returned from Turkey injured in a bomb blast in Mogadishu.

The second seat in HOP#32 was won by the Somali Minister of Commerce Khalif Abdi Omar with 81 votes.
