Turkish Funds Gives Somali Armed Forces A Textile Factory

Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre has laid the foundation stone for Somali armed forces textile factory in Mogadishu.

The factory which will be managed by Somali custodian corps is expected to be completed by January next year.

The Turkish funded industry is set to produce various types of Somali armed forces uniform and other non-arsenal products.

Somali premier who thanked the Turkish government for the unwavering support urged the contractors to complete the work on time saying the establishment of the firm is key to Somali security.

Somali armed forces depend on donated fatigues by friendly state since the previous textile industry was destroyed in the civil war that broke in the country.

Turkish ambassador, Mehmet Yilmaz, Somali Defense Minister, Hassan Mohamed and army chief, general Dahir Elmi were also present during the foundation ceremony.
