The top leaders of Somalia’s Federal Government held talks in Mogadishu hours after the speaker of the parliament Mohamed Mursal reinstated house’s finance committee to work.

The meeting was held at Villa Somalia, the country’s heavily fortified presidential palace in the capital on Saturday night, with the attendance of President Farmajo and PM Khaire.

Sources said the leaders at the meeting discussed the decision by the House speaker, which is contrary to an early announcement of his deputy who disbanded the committee.

The oversight committee on Finance was reinstated on Saturday in a controversial decision by Mursal Abdirahman, the speaker of the parliament who nullified Mudey’s letter.

The Lower House chamber of the parliament has been in deadlock and division since early this year after the MPs ousted former speaker Jawari to resign following a motion.
