Gunmen Murder A Civilian In Northeast Somalia

Unknown assailants were reported to have shot and killed a young man in the northeastern port city of Bosaso on Saturday night, police and witnesses said.

Two men armed with pistols gunned down the man whose name has not yet been released in the downtown Bosaso and fled the scene before the arrival of police authorities.

No was no immediate claim of responsibility for the assassination and the motive is still sketchy, however, security officials said an investigation was underway.

Bosaso, the commercial city of Puntland, situated northeast Somalia has seen a wave of attacks and killings in the past few months as the state is heading to the polls next month.
