Somalia and UNHCR discuss on ways to strengthen cooperation

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Somalia, Abdiwahab Ugas Hussein Khalif met a delegation led by the Somali Representative to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, Magatte Guisse.

The meeting discussed cooperation and job creation and technical support for returning refugees and internally displaced persons.

“We have intensified this meeting to bring stability to the country for returnees and those displaced by the drought. said Minister Abdiwahab.

Mr. Magatte Guisse, UNHCR Representative for Somalia, for his part said that the meeting will be the beginning of strengthening relations, especially in the implementation of the national plan.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Labor and Social Affairs, HE Abdi Ahmed Qasim, the Director-General of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, HE Abdullahi Mohamed Ali, the Chairperson of the National Refugee Agency, HE Amino Said Ali, and officials from the Ministry and UNHCR.
