Somali military court has today sentenced two al-Shabaab assassins convicts to death for the murder of five people in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

Somali military court has today sentenced two al-Shabaab assassins convicts to death for the murder of five people in the Somali capital Mogadishu.

According to the statement by the court, the convicts identified as Sadiq Abdijabar Hussein and Shueb Abdullahi Mohamed were found guilty of killing four soldiers and one civilian.

Hussein was said to have killed Mohamud Hassan Ibrahim, a police officer in March 2019, while Mohamed was found guilty of killing four people including Abdullahi Ibrahim Hassan, Yusuf Abdullahi Mohamud, Abdi Ali Mohamud, and Hussein Moalim Ali Jilacow.

The court also sentenced two others for being al-Shabaab members and attempt and conspiracy to kill a woman.

The two, Ismail Aweys and Mohamed Osman Ahmed were to have fallen in the hands of the police after the plan to eliminate the woman failed. The court sentenced the two to life in prison.
