New Turkish Ambassador Presents His Credentials To President Farmajo

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has received the credential from the new Turkish Somalia.

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has received the credential from the new Turkish Somalia.

Ambassador Mehmet Yilmaz presented a letter to PresidentAbdullahi Farmajo from his Turkish Counterpart President Rajab Tayyip Erdogan.

In the letter, President Erdogan thanked the federal government of Somalia and its people for the warm welcome and the existing strong relationship between the two brotherly nations.

On his side, President Farmajo congratulated the new envoy by wishing him well in his new assignment as the ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Mogadishu.

The President has praised the strong diplomatic relationship between his country and Ankara based on mutual interest of both countries.

Somalia and Turkey share very close diplomatic, defense and economic ties since the first visit of Prime Minister Now President Rajab Erdogan in Mogadishu on August 2011.

Ankara has since built a military academy in Mogadishu to train Somali armed forces, offered scholarship for thousands of Somalis tudents and took part in the renovation of main roads in the capital.

The two Muslim countries have also signed various agreements for cooperation in different field such as trade, defense, health and education.
