New Lower House MPs elected in Mogadishu, Somali capital

The election of three seats in the House of the People, especially members from the northern regions took place today in Mogadishu.

The first seat in HOP218 was won by Dr. Mohamed Elmi Ibrahim by a show of hands, after which he received 98 votes.

Abdiwahab Abdi Omar won the second seat in HOP270 with 97 votes, followed by Muna Ahmed Diriye.

The third seat in HOP226 was also won by Maryan Mohamed Isse with 95 votes, followed by Khadija Ali Warsame.

The election is now in full swing, with the next seat being contested, including by members of parliament from the northern regions.
