Jubbalad forces carry out an operation in Kismayo

Jubbaland security forces reportedly carried out a major operation last night inside the coastal city of Kismayo, the capital of the Lower Jubba region, to ensure security.

The operation was carried out in the suburbs of Kismayo, with troops questioning local youths.

Jubbaland security ministry spokesman Jama Ahmed Ali (Joofane) described the operation as aimed at preventing insecurity.

Kismayo has seen the start of parliamentary elections, especially for members from the Somali regional state of Jubbaland.
