I’m in talks with Govt on Beledweyne crisis, says Gen Hud

General Abukar Haji Warsame (Hud) held a press conference in Mogadishu today to discuss sensitive issues, particularly the situation in HirShabelle and the purpose of his visit to Mogadishu.

Hud said he was in talks with the Somali government and had met with President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo to end the crisis.

He also spoke about the current situation in Beledweyne and the troops recently deployed in the town and said that the troops will be returned, if they do not work in a Somali way, as he said.

“If the force deployed in Beledweyne does not work in a Somali way, we will bring it back. If it works in Somalia, it is the army we do not need,” he told Shabelle Media Network.
