The polls body of Galmudug state of Somalia said that the election of the new parliament speaker will be held the 3rd of October 2018 amid a political standoff between the leaders.
The election was expected to take place yesterday, September 25, but it has been postponed to next month for an undisclosed reason.
The candidates vying for the vacant seat have been asked to fill all conditions before the vote which will be held in Dhusamareb, the seat of Galmudug.
The state leaders are currently split into two opposing sides, one based in Adado and the other in Dhusamareb. The rivalry has been ongoing since the signing of Djibouti deal.
Somali Federal government is seeking to mediate a solution for the crisis in Galmudug and called on both sides to attend an urgent meeting in Mogadishu that saw delays.
