A Somali-Norwegian Among 17 Killed In Mogadishu Car Bomb Attack
A Norwegian citizen of Somali descent has been confirmed dead in a deadly Al Shabaab car bomb attack in Mogadishu, the Somali capital on Thursday, March 22.
Hussein Mohamed Dirir, who recently returned from Norway and his nephew died after the blast struck an auto-rickshaw they were traveling in at the time, his family has confirmed.
Al Shabaab, the Al Qaeda-linked militant group in Somalia has claimed the responsibility for the car bomb attack in the capital that left at least 17 civilians dead and scores injured.
Somalia’s Ministry of Security has confirmed that 14 people were killed in the incident which was the latest in a string of attacks in the seaside capital by the militants.
