Suicide explosion reported in Somali capital

A suicide blast was reported in the downtown Somali capital, Mogadishu on Sunday morning, the second of its kind in less than a week.

Police said a bomber blew himself up at a car ferrying Somali government spokesman Mohamed Ibrahim Moalimuu, who is said to have sustained wounds in the attack.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing, which comes amid a political crisis in Somalia.
