Somalia, EU €23 Million To Support Sustainable Development

Minister for Planning, Gamal Mohamed and EU Director-General, Stefano Manservisi jointly signed the agreement in the presence of Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre and the new mayor of Mogadishu, Omar Mohamed Mohamud aka Omar Finish.

The project dubbed EUR 23 million projects in honor of the late Mayor of Mogadishu Abdirahman Omar Osman will support the inclusive and sustainable development of coastal cities in Mogadishu and Berbera respectively.

The project includes the construction of 17-kilometer road, capacity building for city local authorities and beautification.

Planning Minister, Gamal Mohamed who spoke after the signing of the contract said the project implementation will start soon.

On his part, Somali premier, Hassan Ali Kheyre who thanked his government International development partners vowed to complete the development of ambitious projects initiated by the late mayor of Mogadishu, Abdirahman Omar Osman.
