SNA display bodies of militants killed after mortar shell attacks in Dhusamareb

Security forces in Dhusamareb have displayed the bodies of three suspected Al-Shabaab militants whom they said were responsible for the mortar shelling on the town last night targeting President Mohamed Farmaajo and regional state leaders.

Officials told the media that the three were killed during a hot pursuit by Somali military Monday night after the mortar shells landed in the town. Some of the nine mortar shells landed at the airport.

 

Security forces also had in their custody one of the injured militants who was captured during the operation.

Several guns were also seized by the security forces. Farmaajo, Prime Minister Mohamed Roble and the leaders of South West, Galmudug and HirShabelle were in the town when the attacks happened.

The state and federal leaders are expected to commence electoral talks today in Dhusamareb.
