Prominent youth leader shot dead in Beletwyene

A prominent youth leader in Hiiraan region was shot dead Monday evening in Beletweyne.

Sources in the town told  Farah Abdi Ali aka Farah Diir who was until his death the leader of Hiiraan youth association was shot dead at a tea shop in Nur Hawaad neighbourhood in Beletweyne.

Three of his friends were  injured during the 8pm incident. According to eye witnesses, the assailants fled the scene immediately.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Farah Diir was an influential youth leader in Hiiraan region. He recently played a key role in mobilising aid distribution to floods affected people in Beletwyene.
