Mogadishu police link murder of two pregnant women to Al-Shabaab

Police in Mogadishu have linked the killing of two expectant women in Mogadishu Sunday morning to the militant group Al-Shabaab.

The police force said in a statement the two women were shot dead by Al-Shabaab operatives noting that it had already kicked off investigations into the killings. A third woman survived with injuries.

The women who were cleaners at the Ministry of Defence were shot dead in Dayniile district in Mogadishu as they boarded a bajaj to work according to sources.

Sources said the assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
