HirShabelle Leader Visits Wounded Soldiers In Mogadishu Hospital

The president of Somalia’s southern Federal Member state HirShabelle Mohamed Abdi Waare paid a visit to wounded soldiers at Medina hospital in Mogadishu.

Accompanied by Vice President, Ali Abdullahi Hussein, members of his government and the speaker of the state parliament Sheikh Osman Barre gave donated funds to the victims.

The soldiers were injured in a battle between HirShabelle state forces and Al Shabaab militants in Moqokori town in Hiiraan region in central Somalia.

The militants briefly seized the town following an assault on Somali military bases which led to the death of several soldiers and wounded many others.

The regional state is beset by attacks from the Al Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab fighters who are trying to oust the UN-backed Federal government in Mogadishu.
