Government spokesman arrives from Turkey after treatment for bomb injuries
Somali government spokesman Mohamed Moalimuu arrived back in the country today after close to 40 days of treatment in Turkey following a suicide bomb attack in Mogadishu.
Moalimuu arrived at Aden Adde Airport shortly after midday and was received by senior government officials and journalists.
Moalimuu extended his thanks to Prime Minister Mohamed Roble for aiding his airlift to Turkey for treatment.
He also thanked Somalis for their prayers during his treatment in Turkey.
Moalimuu survived a suicide bomb attack while on his car along Maka al Mukarama street in central Mogadishu on January 16 and was treated locally before being flown to Turkey.
The long serving journalist has survived at least three attacks in the past.
Moalimuu also said he was still in the race for a parliamentary seat in HirShabelle state.
