Abiy Ahmed Holds Talks With Leaders From Ethioipian-Somali Region

Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiye Ahmed on Friday met leaders from Ethiopia’s Somali regional state in Addis Ababa, the capital city of the country.

In a conference held at Millenium Hall, the Prime Minister held talks with religious leaders, politicians, and representatives of Somali diaspora.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues including security, development, and reconciliation.

Mr. Fitsuma Arega, the chief of Staff at the office of PM Abiye confirmed the meeting saying the Prime Minister met with the Somali community.

He said the community demanded equality and justice.

“H.E. PM Abiy Ahmed today met with community & religious leaders & representatives of the Ethio-Somali region. The participants urged action on Justice,” Mr. Fitsuma said.

The official noted that The premier emphasized the need to abide by the law, according to Mr. Fitsuma.

PM Abiy the leaders and the representatives to give the priorities to tolerance and dialogue.

“The PM while appreciating their patience, he also underscored the primacy of tolerance, dialogue and the rule of law,” the official said.
