A Former Electoral Delegate Shot Dead In Mogadishu

Suspected Al Shabaab assailants have shot and killed an elder said to be a former electoral delegate in Mogadishu, the Somali capital on Sunday night.

The elder who was identified as Mohamed Kulow was assassinated at the busy Bakara junction by men armed with pistols who later managed to escape from the crime scene.

Kulow has been seriously wounded in the attack and rushed to a hospital, but, unfortunately, he was pronounced dead on the way, according to the witnesses.

The late elder was one of the electoral delegates elected the current lawmakers of Somalia’s Federal Parliament from HirShabelle state.

No group has so far claimed the responsibility for the assassination of the elder, but, Al Shabaab has previously vowed to target all every delegate voted for the Somali MPs.
