Yaqshid District Commissioner Suspended Over Financial Mismanagement

The office of the Banadir governor who also doubles up as the mayor of Mogadishu municipality has suspended Yaqshid district commissioner, Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Gedow.

Letter from the governor’s office signed by the deputy mayor for finance, Hussein Mohamed Nur has suspended the district official citing financial mismanagement case.

Yaqshid deputy district commissioner was instructed to immediately take over as acting capacity in the letter.

The suspended official is out of the country for an official trip.

The developments come following the absence of Governor Abdirahman Omar Osman from office.

Engineer Yarisow is outside the country for an official visit that took weeks.

On September this year, the Banadir deputy governor has similarly suspended Hamar-Weyn district commissioners, Omar Sharif Jeg for using an appropriate language towards the government and the police force.
