U.S. Military Carries Out Second Airstrike Against ISIL In Somalia

U.S military carried out an airstrike against pro-Islamic State militant in Bari region of Puntland, security officials said.

A Puntland security officer, who requested anonymity, told Radio Shabelle that the airstrike occurred near Qandala coastal town on Monday.

The officer added that he could not confirm whether there are casualties.

The attack is the second U.S. airstrike against the ISIL-linked group in Puntland.

In November 2017, U.S military carried out its first airstrike on a base-held by the ISIL faction, killing at least one fighter.
