The Permanent Secretary Of Humanitarian Affairs Ministry Quits

The managing permanent secretary of Somalia’s humanitarian affairs ministry announced on Thursday that he has resigned from his post, citing lack of cooperation in the ministry.

The managing permanent secretary of Somalia’s humanitarian affairs ministry announced on Thursday that he has resigned from his post, citing lack of cooperation in the ministry.

Mohamed Omar Moalim who has been serving the office for the last two years declared the decision in a Twitter post, but, declined to disclose the root cause of the resignation.

Moalim added that he could no longer work as Permanent Secretary of the ministry over what he termed as lack cooperation.

Up until now, the ministry did not comment on concerns of Moalim.

His resignation comes a week after Somali security forces detained the head of the relocation department of the IDPs at the ministry over fraud claims.

The ministry has been beset by confusion and disorder which forced the minister of humanitarian affairs and disaster management, Maryan Qasim to leave the office in 2017.
