Somaliland President Meets With UK Ambassador To Somalia

The President of Somaliland administration Muse Bihi Abdi today received a delegation from the United Kingdom led by David Concar, UK Ambassador to Somalia in Hargeisa.

According to a statement released by Somaliland presidency, Abdi and Concar discussed a range of issues, including on ways to boost UK’s support to the northern breakaway region.

President Abdi has thanked the Brtish government for its continued assistance to his administration, in the fields of development projects and the security sector.

Abdi has updated the ambassador about the upcoming parliamentary and
local council elections which are slated for March 2019.

He acknowledged his wish for the electoral process to happen without hitch or postponement.

The British envoy promised that his government will continue to support
Somaliland in her developmental path. He went on to reveal that the British
government will add the development aid it gives to Somaliland.
