A Somali Soccer Official Killed In Mogadishu
A popular Somali soccer official was shot to death Thursday evening near his home in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
Ali Abdulkadir Farah, the deputy commissioner of Hamar-Jajab on the social affairs said Habib Mohamed Said, known as “Baldi” the district’s soccer chief died in an accidental fire.
Said has succumbed to his wounds on way to the hospital.
The tragic incident took place after a Somali soldier has handed over his AK-47 gun to a civilian who accidentally opened the fire which killed the football official.
Several security officials were detained for the death of the late Said and they are currently being questioned over the incident, according to the Police.
Late Said has contributed to Hamar-Jajab district soccer for many years.
