Somali President Set To Visit Puntland Next Week

Somali President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmajo is expected to pay a landmark visit to Somalia’s northeastern semi-autonomous region of Puntland in the coming days.

The President  will arrive in Garowe, the state’s administrative capital, where he will hold talks with Puntland leader Abdiweli Mohamed Ali “Gaas”, according to Presidential sources.

The overall security of Garowe will be tightened as Puntland is preparing the welcoming of the President.

This will be the 1st visit by Somali President to the region since he took the oath of office in February last year.
