Somali President, Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed, will arrive in Asmara, Eritrea later today.

He will travel to Asmara for a tripartite summit with Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed of Ethiopia and President Isaias Afwerki of Eritrea, according to Yemane Gebremeskel, Eritrea’s Information Minister.

The Somali and Eritrean president on July signed an agreement to establish diplomatic ties after over a decade of animosity, in the latest lightning rapprochement between Horn of Africa rivals.

The two countries agreed to establish diplomatic relations and exchange ambassadors.
