Somali president phones Bihi after the market fire

Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo telephoned Somaliland leader Muse Bihi to show his sympathy after the fire at Waheen Market in Hargeisa.

Farmajo shared with his brother President Bihi his grief and concern over the plight of Somali business people and the city of Hargeisa, expressing the government’s commitment to assist business people who have lost their livelihoods in this tragedy.

“We stand with the business community and the entire Somaliland community for their support and prayers, and I call on the Somali people everywhere to mobilize and extend a helping hand to their brothers and sisters.”

For his part, President Muse Bihi Abdi thanked the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia for his commitment to support the traders who lost their property in last night’s fire in the Hargeisa market.

President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo prayed for a better future for the traders affected by the disaster.
