Somali Navy Marks The 53rd Anniversary Of Its Foundation

Somali navy force has celebrated today its 53rd year since its foundation in  1965 during a festival held in Mogadishu.

Ministers, Lawmakers and other key government officials have attended the ceremony to mark the 53rd anniversary that took place under a heightened security.

Admiral Madey Nurey Ufurow, the commander of Somali navy said at the event that the force is recovering from fall down and thanked Turkey and Italy for providing speedboats to the maritime force.

Meanwhile, General Abdispeedboatsorod, Somali National Army [SNA] chief has sent his congratulatory message on behalf of the Somali people to the naval force.
