Somali military court has executed suspected Alshabaab member who assassinated popular cleric in Baidoa last year.

Mohamed Adan Ali Barrow was killed via firing squad in Baidoa, the interim administrative capital of Southwest state of Somalia on Saturday morning.

He was found guilty by the martial court for manslaughtering Sheikh Mader Madgab Aliyow inside Baidoa mosque on 15th of June last year.

The court said he was a member of the armed group Alshabaab.

The execution was witnessed by the chair of Somali military court colonel Hassan Alinur Shuteye.

Somali military court carried out trials related to terror in recent years and it has tried hundreds of suspected Alshabaab militants including senior officials to the death sentence.

The human rights organizations to stop the death sentence.
