The blast occurred near Dabka junction, along the busy Makka Al-Mukarama road in the capital after a bomb concealed under the seat of a car belonging to Somali lawmaker.
The MP, Dahir Amin Jesow has not been traveling in the vehicle at the time of the explosion. He was a nearby shopping mall.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
