Somali Custodial Corps Chief Hails Ongoing Military Operations In The Country

The head of Somalia’s Custodial Corps, General Bashir Mohamed Jama [Bashir Goobe] has greatly welcomed the ongoing military operations across the country.

Bashir Goobe highlighted the importance to improve the morale of the Somali national army forces and their commanders which is key to the fight against Al-Shabaab.

Continuing, the Custodial Corps commander said the security forces and AMISOM have made significant gains against the Al-Qaeda-linked militant group in the past few years.

He added that Somali police forces played a vital role in ensuring security in the capital, Mogadishu since taking in charge from the combined troops under stabilization mission.

The remarks came after Somali and AU troops recaptured several villages in the south from the Al-Shabaab fighters.
