 Security forces launched massive operations in Mogadishu Sunday morning in the wake of a series of landmine attacks that have rocked the city in recent weeks.

 Security forces launched massive operations in Mogadishu Sunday morning in the wake of a series of landmine attacks that have rocked the city in recent weeks.

The operations included stop and search on civilians in various estates and roads in the city. Public and private vehicles were also stopped and searched.

The operations come at a time several people have been injured and killed in improvised explosive devices (IEDs attacks.

 

Four security guards attached to two former MPs were yesterday killed after a vehicle they were travelling ran into a landmine in Shibis district.

The two former MPs- Muhidin Farah and Hussein Arale survived but sustained injuries.
