Puntland Leader Jets Off To UAE

Puntland President has on Saturday, April 21 traveled to UAE as the rift between the Somali Federal government and the Gulf nation is deepening.

Before traveling to UAE, Abdiweli Mohamed Ali told reporters that the aim of his trip is to strengthen the relationship between Puntland and UAE.

The trip comes a week after UAE has announced that it has disbanded its training mission in the Horn of Africa in protest of $9.6 million cash seized at Mogadishu airport April 9.

Somali government says it is working on ways to mend the ties with the UAE.
