President Farmaajo appoints two judges to Banaadir Regional Courts

President Mohamed Farmaajo has appointed two new judges to serve in Banaadir Region High Court and the Regional Court of Appeal.

Mohamed Abdikadir Hassan is the new Banaadir Region High Court judge while Mohamed Ahmed Osman will be the head of the Banaadir Regional Appeals Court.

The two judges replaced Muse Moalim Mohamed (Banaadir Regional High Court) and Abshir Omar Abdullahi (Appeals Court) both of whom came to office in 2018.

“The president of the federal republic of Somalia appointed new judges to Banadir Regional Court and Regional Appeals Courts following recommendation from the chairperson of the supreme court Ahmed Baashe Yusuf Ahmed,” a statement from the presidency read in part.

The appointment of the two judges is part ongoing changes in the judiciary which has seen a number of judges retired and new ones appointed.
