PM Khaire lands in Dhusamareb ahead of President Farmaajo’s arrival

Prime Minister Hassan Khaire has this evening arrived in Dhusamareb, Galmudug state where he will be meeting with regional state presidents.

Sources close to Galmudug state president Ahmed Qoor-Qoor have told the PM’s visit sets the ground for President Mohamed Farmaajo’s arrival.

The sources noted President Farmaajo had accepted an invitation from Qoor-Qoor.

The Federal Member State Presidents have been meeting in Dhusamareb for the last one week.

A communique from the meeting noted the leaders had agreed that an alternative electoral model be worked on to ensure elections are held this year.

The electoral commission NIEC has ruled out elections this year under the one-person-one vote model.

The Dhusamareb grand meeting will be a rare one in the recent past bringing together Federal Government and Federal Member State leaders.

The meeting is expected to agree on an inclusive political direction for elections to be held in time.
