The Immigration and Naturalisation Services department issued a notice Saturday noting it will resume services from tomorrow but warned COVID19 measures must be observed without fail.

The department said those visiting immigration centres must wear masks and gloves and should observe social distancing as a measure to tame spread of COVID-19. As of July 9, the Ministry of Health had recorded 3,038 cases with 92 fatalities. Over 1,200 people have since recovered from the disease.

To ease congestion, the department said it had set two passport application centres. One will be based at Ministry of Fisheries building at Abiaziz district which will serve residents of Abdiaziz, Kaaraan, Hiliwaa, Shibis, Shangani, Bondheere, Hamarweyne, Yaqshiid.

Those from Hodon, Waabari, Warta-Nabada, Wadajir, Kaxda, Deyniile, Howlwadaag, Hamar Jajab, Dharkeynleey can access the services at Public Works Building in Hodan district.

The department suspended services in April following the increase in COVID-19 cases. The centres will be open from 8.00am to 12.00pm.
