New Somalia ambassador to Egypt presents credentials in Cairo

The new Somali ambassador to Egypt Ilyas Sheikh Omar presented his credentials to the Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

The new Somali ambassador to Egypt Ilyas Sheikh Omar presented his credentials to the Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Omar formally began his official duty as the new ambassador following the submission of the credentials about half a year since his predecessor died.

Ambassador Abdiqani Mohamed Wa’ays died of COVID-19 in 2020.

 

Omar who now takes over will also be Somalia’s ambassador to Arab League which is headquartered in Cairo, Egypt.
