The mayor of Mogadishu, Eng Abdirahman Omar Osman Yarisow has launched a campaign to curb the ghost employees in his administration’s payroll.

The mayor of Mogadishu, Eng Abdirahman Omar Osman Yarisow has launched a campaign to curb the ghost employees in his administration’s payroll.

He announced the process and stated that his administration would speed the audit of the workers to come up with excellent service delivery to the public.

“The procedure is meant to connect the registration systems of the civil servants and Benadir administration to curb ghost workers,” he said.

In collaboration with the ministries of labour and finance, Benadir regional admin is closely working together to ensure the success of the process by building the quality of the staff.

The process will ensure the audit, registers and update information on all the employees that are on the payroll.

Salah Ahmed Jama, Somalia’s minister for labour, assured Mogadishu mayor, Abdulrahman Omar Osman that the ministry will cooperate with the municipality to improve the welfare.
