List of new 90 HirShabelle state MPs unveiled in Jowhar

The state electoral committee in HirShabelle has announced the newly selected members of parliament. The 90 MPs were selected by clan elders who have meeting in the temporary state capital Jowhar.

Out of the 90 MPs, only six are female. Former speaker Sheikh Osman Mohamed and his deputy Hussein Gedi did not make a comeback in the selection which is based on clan and sub-clan distribution.

The new lawmakers will now be sworn in before they settle to elect a new president.
