Kenyan troops destroyed a Hormuud Telecom communication mast located in Ali Buley located on Somalia’s border with Kenya this week, disrupting communication in the area.
The village is located some 30 kilometers west of Afmadow district in Lower Jubba region, south of Somalia.
The company said KDF tortured of a staff member during the total destruction of the mast that led to service disruption to over 30,000 people in Dif, Gariley and Dhuya-Garon.
“The villagers can’t access their basic needs via our services like EVC Plus,” said Hormuud Telecom in a Twitter post.
Imam Omar Moalim, an elder in Mogadishu has condemned the destruction of Hormuud Telecom communication mast by KDF and paralyzing mobile communication in the area.
Hormuud Telecom Somalia Inc. is a privately held leading telecommunications company based in Mogadishu, the Somali capital.
