Jubaland elects six Lower House MPs

The election of six seats in the 11th House of the People of the Federal Parliament took place in Kismayo, the first Lower House MPs to be elected in Jubaland.

Hamse Abdi Barre and Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud contested for the first of the six seats in today’s election in Kismayo, HOP 203, with Hamse Abdi Barre winning the seat with 60 votes, while Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud received 17 votes. , and lost 15 votes, according to the chairman of the Jubbaland Electoral Commission.

Abdirashid Jire Qalinle, the former Minister of Finance of Jubbaland, and Siyad Aden Idle, the former Minister of Finance of Jubbaland, have been vying for the second seat of HOP 82, which was previously held by Hamza Sheikh Hussein Olow. Jire Qalinle received 75 votes, while Siyad Adan Idle received 20 votes and four votes invalid.

Hassan Abdi Ismail (HassanYare), who has been in office for the past four years, and Mohamed Farah Muhumed, who won the third seat in Kismayo today, HOP 217, won the seat and Hassan Abdi Ismail (HassanYare) won the seat. They know Hassan Faranbi, who received 71 votes, and his rival Mohamed Farah Muhumed received 20 votes and 4 votes spoiled.

The fourth seat in today’s election in Kismayo was contested by Mohamed Ali Omar and Ibrahim Abdulle Ibrahim and won by HOP 108 Mohamed Ali Omar with 76 votes, while his rival Ibrahim Abdulle received 19. Jubbaland Electoral Commission Chairman Dr Siyad Mohamed Mursal told the media that 4 votes were invalid.

The fifth seat in today’s election in Kismayo, HOP 113, was contested by Maryan Aweys Jama and Seynab Ali Munganga and won by Maryan Aweys Jama with 83 votes, while Zeinab Ali Muganga received 17 votes and 2 spoiled.

The sixth seat, HOP-134, which was supposed to be contested by Sahra Jama Ali and Fartun Ahmed Yusuf, was abandoned by Fartun Ahmed, and Sahra Jama Ali won the seat by a show of hands with 97 votes.
