Hirshabelle state president Mohamed Abdi Waare has appointed a new governor for Hiran region after sacking former governor, Yusuf Ahmed Hagar on Saturday.
In a statement, the regional leader has termed the reason for the dismissal as “the need for change and devolution of governance in the region.”
Waare has named Ali Mohamed Arale who once contested for regional presidency in 2017 as the new immediate replacement.
The dismissal comes just a day after Yusuf Ahmed alias Dabaged accused president Abdi Warre of his intention of mismanaging revenues collected from the Hiiran region.
Dabaged held the post more than three times before.
