Gunmen storm into SYL hotel near Villa Somalia

 Armed men stormed into the heavily secured SYL hotel opposite Villa Somalia Tuesday evening with casualties feared.

Sources have told the armed men stormed into the hotel and opened fire on people inside. There are no immediate reports on number of casualties.

Some people inside the hotel reportedly jumped off windows into the nearby Berta Nabada to escape the attack. The hotel is popular with Somali politicians.

Unlike previous attacks, the assailants did not use explosives laden vehicles to access the building.
The militant group Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility
