Galmudug State Forces Conduct Security Operation In Dhusamareb

The security forces of Galmudug state were reported to have carried out a security operation in Dhusamareb town, the regional capital of Galgadud in central Somalia.

At least 52 people, mostly youngsters have been detained during the sweep which was targeted suspected houses in the town following a tipoff.

Local security authorities declined to provide further details on the mass arrest.

The operation comes amidst tight security measures in place in the central city, which hosts the top leadership of Galmudug State, including President Haaf, and his cabinet.

The state leaders are still in deadlock over the power share deal signed in Djibouti last year during IGAD brokered talks.
