Former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Thursday arrived back to Mogadishu, almost nearly two years since he lost the presidential election to Farmajo.
Former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Thursday arrived back to Mogadishu, almost nearly two years since he lost the presidential election to Farmajo.
Upon arrival at Aden Adde Airport, Mohamud was welcomed by ministers, lawmakers, and senior government officials and members of the civil society.
Speaking to the media, the former president said he arrived in the country to assess the current situation the country, promising to pay a visit to regions under government control.
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who is currently a member of the Lower House chamber of the parliament pointed out that he will tour all the regions of the country discuss with the public on the matters affecting the country.
Mohamud was the eight president of the country from September 2012 until February last year and lost to Farmajo in the election by the parliament.
