Foreign Ambassadors Visit Flood-Hit Somalia Town

A delegation led by Somalia’s Posta and Telecommunication Minister, Engineer, Abdi Ashur Hassan accompanied by the ambassadors of Turkey, Qatar and Djibouti arrived in flood-hit city Beledweyn on Saturday.

The envoys assessed the damage caused by the heavy floods in a bid to aid the victims.

Members of the national flood relief committee also arrived in Beledweyne today to coordinate local relief operations.

Qatar’s Hassan Bin Hamza Hashem and his Turkish counterpart Mehmet Yilmaz held a meeting with leaders from Hirshabelle state officials led by a leader, Mohamed Abdi Ware.

The envoys pledged to deliver additional humanitarian assistance from Bosaso port via road since the local airport was affected by the heavy downpour.
