Unidentified warplanes have launched an overnight airstrike in central Somalia on Wednesday night, local residents said.
The air raid was conducted in Luuq Jeelow area, an Al-Shabaab stronghold in Hiran region targeting militants at a base. The details of the casualties remained sketchy.
Fear is growing for the villagers after the airstrike by the unknown fighter jets hunting Al-Shabaab fighters in the remote area.
US military has in the past carried out numerous airstrikes in Somalia targeting Al-Shabaab and ISIL-linked militants stationed in the country’s northeastern Puntland state.
