The body of a popular Somali singer and guitarist Omar Abdulle Sholi who died in Mogadishu on Tuesday night has been laid to rest on Wednesday.
Sholi died in a hospital in the capital Mogadishu on Tuesday night where he has been ill for the last two months.
The late singer was a notable member of the famous Waberi national band.
Somali Education Minister Abdullahi Godah Barre was among many who sent their condolences to the family and friends of Omar Sholi. He said Sholi was a great singer who played a huge role in promoting Somalia’s art.
